The research expertise of Francesca Cantini is in the field of structural biology, particularly characterizing protein solution structure via high resolution NMR spectroscopy. FC is interested in the structural and dynamic characterization of proteins both involved in the maturation of the Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase and their interactions, and of potential candidate vaccine proteins against infectious bacterial diseases. The latter project is performed within collaboration between CERM and the Novartis Vaccine Institute for Global Health (Siena, Italy). This study has allowed us to generate a chimeric protein able to stimulate the production of antibodies against different variants of meningococcus B.
